Treatments will be tailored to your specific situation and requirements, and we will also provide you with recommendations on ongoing prevention. This includes recommendations on housekeeping, sanitisation and exclusion.

House mice

Rodents invade our homes and businesses mainly in search of food and shelter. They contaminate food, damage property and spread diseases through their parasites and faeces. One of the most common diseases they transmit is salmonellosis (food poisoning). Mice may also spread tapeworms and organisms that can cause ringworm (a fungal skin disease) in humans.

Mice are mainly herbivores (plant eaters). Contrary to popular belief, they prefer to feed on seeds and grain, not cheese! However, they will not hesitant to eat new foods, sampling anything that may exist in their environment.

Breeding patterns

Mice may breed all year-round, but when living outdoors, they breed mostly in spring and autumn. A female may have 5 to 10 litters per year, giving birth to up to 12 babies every 3 weeks. Mouse populations can explode rapidly under ideal conditions.

Living quarters

The biggest cause of rodent infestations is the availability of food and shelter. House mice live in homes, farms, commercial establishments, open fields and agricultural lands. At times, they may be found living far from human settlements, particularly where climates are moderate. The onset of cold weather in autumn may cause them to move indoors in search of shelter and food.
